Loft insulation upgrades for Taunton homes

Professional loft insulation for homes with ageing, uneven or insufficient insulation.

Taunton is Somerset's county town, with a broad mix of housing from Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the centre to the large modern estates at Comeytrowe, Priorswood and Monkton Heathfield.

Insulation in many of these homes was installed years ago and has often thinned or compressed over time, leaving it below the depth needed to hold heat effectively.

Our loft insulation surveys in Taunton assess your existing insulation, loft condition and ventilation before recommending the most suitable upgrade for your property.

Highly recommended

An excellent upgrade to our bungalow loft insulation. Three men in loft over a day and a half removing 45 large bags of fibreglass and replacing with 300 ml of rock wool insulation.Very professional and clean working. Highly recommended.

Spot on

Very efficient about how the work was carried out; the original insulation removed a large area of boarded loft removed before overlaying the installation of the new insulation between joist. Finally ‘hoovered’ stairs and hallway. PS stairs were covered before commencement of work. Very pleased

We are very happy

Excellent service by Tom and Charlie, from quote (3 months ago) to completion today. (Our delay).
Good work in our loft, completed with care and clear information about what’s to be done and what has been done.

Tom and Charlie are good to work with, they get on with the job and take care of details as well.

They completed the work in less time than expected! We were all happy!

We were very impressed

We had Tom in to quote for insulating my dad's loft and he was very down to earth and thorough, the quote arrived quickly, was very reasonable and we settled on a date around 3 weeks later.

The quality of Toms workmanship was very good, the roof space is exactly as he said it would be and everything was disposed of correctly and left clean and tidy as if no one had even been in. We even received a folder with all the details in it upon completion. I would not hesitate to recommend Tom to anyone and we were very impressed with the service we received.

Exceptional

Tom and his team were nothing but exceptional. From his initial visit to quote, he was insightful and helpful in laying out the various insulation and installation options. In the end we requested, the removal of insulation, new insulation installed, boarded loft space and a larger loft hatch. He arrived on time, installed in his said time estimate and left each of the two days he was here with an immaculate home. There was no mess, whatsoever. He prepped beforehand each day laying down protective materials on carpets etc. Would recommend and use again.

Loft insulation Taunton FAQs

How much does loft insulation cost in Taunton?

Most loft insulation projects start from around £600, depending on the size of your loft, access and the condition of your existing insulation.

Do you cover the areas around Taunton?

Yes. We work throughout Taunton and nearby areas including Wellington, Bishops Lydeard, Norton Fitzwarren and Creech St Michael.

Will new loft insulation help with a cold home?

Yes. Topping up or replacing thin, settled insulation reduces heat loss through the roof and helps keep upstairs rooms more comfortable.

How long does installation take?

Most loft insulation installations are completed within one working day, depending on the size of the loft and any preparation needed.

Do you remove old loft insulation?

Yes. Where needed, we remove old, damaged or unsuitable insulation before installing new mineral wool.

Is loft insulation worth it for a newer Taunton home?

Yes. Even newer estate homes can have insulation that has settled or was laid below the recommended depth, so a survey often finds room for improvement.
